È difficile credere che il 2021 sta per essere archiviato. Per molti di noi è stato un anno pieno di speranza e di nuovi inizi. Lo scorso anno abbiamo assistito ad una svolta nel settore dei viaggi e la pandemia è sotto controllo. Con l’avvento del vaccino, ora è sicuro tornare in Italia e gli effetti collaterali del virus sono ormai minimi! Io per primo ero entusiasta di ricevere la vaccinazione in modo da poter salire a bordo di un aereo diretto in Italia. Ho trascorso sette settimane incredibili nel Bel Paese andando a trovare gli amici, facendone nuove amicizie e conducendo il “Matta Andiamo a Lucca Language 2021 Program.” Dopo un anno di pausa è stato bello tornare e viaggiare dappertutto l’Italia. Che bellezza assistere alla giostra di nuovo ad Arezzo, caminare le mura a Lucca, e scoprire Ascoli nelle Marche.
It is hard to believe that 2021 will soon be one for the history books. For many of us, it was a year full of hope and new beginnings. This past year we saw a breakthrough in travel and the pandemic is under control. With the advent of the vaccine, it is now safe to return to Italy and the side effects of the virus are now minimal! I for one was thrilled to receive the vaccination so that I could board a plane bound for Italy. I spent an incredible seven weeks in the Bel Paese connecting with friends, making new ones, and leading the “Matta Andiamo a Lucca Language 2021 Program.” After a year’s hiatus it was lovely to once again travel all over Italy — participate in the jousting festival in Arezzo, walk the path on top of Lucca’s wall, and discover Ascoli in le Marche.
Il mondo si sta riprendendo e FINALMENTE ancora una volta viaggiare è possibile!
The world is recovering and FINALLY
once again travel is possible!
È tempo di andare avanti con le nostre vite, uscire e vivere la vita e tornare in Italia!
It is time to get on with our lives, get out there,
and experience LIFE and return to ITALY!
Quest anno, quando i miei amici italiani mi hanno visto sulla soglia di casa, si sono emozionati, mi hanno abbracciato e hanno detto: Quando vediamo Melissa di nuovo qui, sappiamo che la situazione mondiale sta migliorando e stiamo guarendo insieme.
This year, when my Italian friends saw me on their doorstep, they became emotional, embraced me, and said: When we see Melissa here again, we know the world situation is getting better and we are healing together.
Credo che le cose continueranno a migliorare!
I believe things will keep getting better and better and the promise of Italy will be a reality once again in 2022!
Seguendo questa linea di pensiero, vorrei dare il benvenuto al 2022 con queste parole di “saggezza di viaggio.”
Following that train of thought, I’d like to welcome 2022
with these words of “travel wisdom.”

Non vedo l’ora di passare del tempo con te nel 2022 imparando l’italiano, conquistando la grammatica e facendoti conoscere nuovi vocaboli. Sono pronta di fare nuovi video e scrivere nuovi articoli… ma soprattutto non vedo l’ora di tornare in Italia. Spero che verrai con me ad Arezzo (Giugno 12-24), e a Lucca (Aug 25-Sept 3) e ad Ascoli (Sept 11-23).
I look forward to spending time with you in 2022 learning Italian, conquering grammar, and introducing you to new vocabulary.
