È con grande tristezza che vi informo della scomparsa improvvisa della nostra amata Homestay hostess and insegnante Vincenza Terrigni, conosciuta da tutti come la maestra Enza, all’età di 59 anni. La sua perdita lascia un vuoto incolmabile, tanto grande era la passione, la creatività e la dedizione che aveva per la scuola dove insegnava e per gli studenti adulti che accoglieva nella sua casa per fare Homestay.
It is with great sadness that I inform you of the sudden passing of our beloved homestay hostess and teacher, Vincenza Terrigni, known to all as Maestra Enza, at the age of 59. Her loss leaves an irreplaceable void, so great was her passion, creativity, and dedication to the school where she taught and to the adult students she welcomed into her home for Homestay.
Ho avuto il piacere di lavorare con Enza per molti anni, e dopo il Covid, è stata la prima a darmi il benvenuta nella sua casa al mio ritorno ad Arezzo. Ho trascorso momenti meravigliosi con Enza, sua figlia Viola e ricorderò sempre con affetto il mio soggiorno nel suo appartamento all’ultimo piano con una vista mozzafiato sulla città e sul Duomo.
I had the pleasure of working with Enza for many years, and after Covid, she was the first to welcome me into her home upon my return to Arezzo. I spent wonderful moments with Enza and her daughter Viola and will always remember with affection my stay in her rooftop apartment with a breathtaking view of the city and the Cathedral.
Fuori dalla scuola primaria, dove Enza insegnava, è apparso un cartello che recita: “Buon viaggio maestra Enza, sarai sempre nei nostri cuori”. Questo messaggio riassume perfettamente l’affetto e la gratitudine di tutti coloro che hanno avuto il privilegio di conoscerla.
Outside the primary school, where Enza taught, a sign has appeared that reads: “Buon viaggio Maestra Enza, you will always be in our hearts.” This message perfectly encapsulates the affection and gratitude of all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Enza era una persona meravigliosa, aperta e amorevole. Mancherà immensamente a tutti noi. Il suo spirito e il suo insegnamento continueranno a vivere nei cuori di chi ha avuto la fortuna di essere toccato dalla sua generosità e dalla sua saggezza.
Enza was a wonderful, open, and loving person. She will be immensely missed by all of us. Her spirit and teaching will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by her generosity and wisdom.
I am stunned to learn this news about the passing of Enza. I did a homestay with her and Roggero and Viola just two years ago. Her kindness and genuine interest in me was remarkable. I felt like I had known her much longer than just a week. And, she went out of her way to make sure I felt at home and that I experienced so much more than the average student did. I miss her so much already.
