Durante il fine settimana, ho visto il film del 1994 “Only You” su Amazon Prime. La trama potrebbe essere un po’ sciocca, ma chi se ne frega! I paesaggi italiani sono da morire, e gli abiti e le scarpe che Marisa Tomei e Helen Hunt indossano nel film sono deliziosi. Che bello guardare i personaggi sul Canal Grande a Venezia e le strade secondarie toscane dove si sono fermate a pranzare con viste mozzafiato di Monteriggioni vicino a Siena… e infine a Positano.

Over the weekend, I watched the 1994 movie “Only You” on Amazon Prime. The storyline might be a little thin, and silly but who cares! The Italian landscapes are to die for—and the outfits and shoes Tomei and Hunt wear in the film are delicious. The scenery and costumes certainly had me drooling and living vicariously through the characters as they floated down the Grand Canal in Venice, drove through Tuscan back roads stopping to eat lunch with breath-taking views of Monteriggioni near Siena… and finally coming to a stop in Positano on the Amalfi coast.

Sinossi del film: Un incidente d’infanzia ha convito Faith Corvatch (Marisa Tomei) che il suo vero amore è un ragazzo di nome “Damon Bradley,” ma lei deve ancora incontrarlo. Preparandosi a stabilirsi e sposare un pedologo, Faith vola impulsivamente a Venezia con la sua migliore amica (Bonnie Hunt) quando sembra che possa finalmente incontrare l’uomo dei suoi sogni. Invece, incontra l’affascinante Peter Wright (Robert Downey Jr.). Ma possono innamorarsi se lei crede ancora di essere destinata a stare con qualcun altro?

Synopsis of the film: A childhood incident has convinced Faith Corvatch (Marisa Tomei) that her true love is a guy named “Damon Bradley,” but she has yet to meet him.
