L’altro giorno una mia amica ha messo la canzone “Magnolia” dei Negrita sulla sua bacheca. (Grazie Roberta di Lecce!) Ho trovato la canzone e il video veramente bellissimi. Nel video diretto da Beniamino Catena, un gruppo di musicisti suona il brano a bordo di un vecchio pulmino rosso, che sta viaggiando lungo una strada di campagna in Toscana. Alla fine il pulmino giunge su una spiaggia, dove il gruppo e gli altri passeggeri festeggiano al tramonto. Ahhh…essere in spiaggia ad ascoltare la canzone con quel gruppo! Troppo bello, no?
The other day a friend of mine posted the song “Magnolia” by Negrita on her FB page. I found the song and the video to be truly great. (Grazie Roberta in Lecce!) In the video directed by Bengiamino Caten, a group of musicians plays the song on board an old red bus that is traveling down a long country road in Tuscany. In the end, the van arrives at a beach where the group and the passengers celebrate at sunset. Ahhh…to be at the beach listening to the song with that group! Too great, right?
I Negrita sono un complesso Rock Italiano, originario della Toscana vicino a Arezzo, che unisce varie influssi dal blues, grunge e reggae e sensuali ritmi Latini per creare un nuovo suono fresco. Negrita is an Italian rock band, originally from Tuscany near Arezzo, that combines various influences from blues, grunge, and reggae to sultry Latin rhythms to create a new fresh sound. In recent years the group has had one success after the other that has taken them on a trip through Italy and around the world. With a good nine albums under their belts, Negrita represents one the best affirmed Italian rock bands.
La loro storia inizia nel 1991 quando i fondatori Paolo Bruni, (voce e chitarra), Enrico Salvi (chitarra), Cesare Petrecich (chitarra), Franco Li Causi (basso) e Roberto Zamgni (batteria) hanno deciso di diffondere alcune registrazioni delle loro prime composizioni su diverse stazioni radio indipendenti e ai produttori della scena musicale “sotterraneo”. I loro primi sforzi non hanno fatto un gran che, fino a quando il gruppo si è unito a Fabrizio Barbacci, un giovane produttore musicale che ha anche lavorato con artisti di successo come Ligabue, Gianna Nannini e Francesco Renga. Dopo aver cambiato il nome del gruppo da “Gli Inudibili” a “Negrita” che veniva dalla canzone dei Rolling Stones “Hey! Negrita” il gruppo è stato finalmente sulla strada giusta e il loro primo album ha avuto tre successi “Cambio”, “Rumore” e “Lontani dal mondo”.
Their story began in 1991 when the founders Paolo Bruni (vocals and guitar), Enrico Salvi (guitar), Caesar Petrecich (guitar), Franco Li Cause (bass), and Roberto Zamgni (drums) decided to circulate some recordings of their first compositions to various independent radio stations and to producers in the underground music scene. Their first efforts didn’t amount to much until the group met up with Fabrizio Barbacci, a young music producer who has also worked with successful artists such as Ligabue, Gianna Nannini, and Francesco Renga. After changing the name of the group from “Gli Inudibile/ The inaudible” to “Negrita” that came from the Rolling Stones song “Hey! Negrita” the group was finally on the right track and their debut album had three hits for them “Cambio”, “Rumore” and “Lontani dal mondo”.
