L’altro giorno ho ricevuto un’email da Daniela e Angelo i fondatori di Lucca Italian School, con una notizia fantastica! Mi hanno scritto per informarmi che tra poco trasferiscono la scuola, da fuori le mura ad un posto dentro le mura nel cuore della città vecchia. A partire da gennaio 2015 la scuola avrà sede in via dei Bacchettoni in una bella villa che è impreziosita nello stile Liberty o Art Nouveau.
The other day I received an email from Daniela and Angelo the founders of Lucca Italian School with some great news! They were writing to let me know that they are moving the school from outside the walls of Lucca to a spot inside the walls, in the heart of the old city. As of January 2015, the school will be located in Via dei Bacchettoni in a beautiful villa that drips with the Liberty style of art nouveau!
In questo nuovo posto, che è anche molto vicino al Chiostro di San Francisco, ci sono anche un bellissimo giardino ed una terrazza che possono essere utilizzati dagli studenti per le attività extra-curriculari. La strada dove si trova la villa e anche la stessa in cui sono allestite le stalle del mercato aperto il mercoledì e il sabato.
In this new location, which is also very close to the Cloister of San Francisco, there is also a beautiful garden and terrace that can be used by the students for extra-curricular activities. The street where the villa is located is also home to the open-air markets, that are set up every Wednesday and Saturday.
Sono molto contenta e felice per tutti gli insegnanti di Lucca Italian School. Dopo cinque anni di lavoro costante, la scuola prospera e continua a crescere. Questa non è una sorpresa a me. Ho personalmente osservato gli insegnanti di Lucca Italian School in azione! Ogni giorno offrono un ottimo servizio e le loro lezioni sono favolose. Trovano sempre modi interessanti per insegnare l’italiano agli stranieri e gli studenti che frequentano la scuola sono sempre clienti soddisfatti!
I am so pleased and happy for all the teachers at Lucca Italian School. After five years of hard work, the school is thriving and continuing to grow. This comes as no surprise to me. I have personally observed the teachers of Lucca Italian School in action! Every day they offer great service and their lessons are fabulous. They always find interesting ways to teach Italian to foreigners and students who attend the school are always “happy campers”!
Io trovo questa novità veramente fantastica, perché tutti coloro che viaggiano a Lucca per partecipare al “Matta” programma successivo, saranno in grado di godere della nuova sede della scuola! I find this news to be really awesome because all those who travel to Lucca on the next “Matta” program will be able to enjoy the school’s new digs! Il programma del 2015 é aperto a dieci persone. Passeremo nove giorni a Lucca e riceverete 36 ore di insegnamento. I partecipanti saranno suddivisi in classi corrispondenti al loro livello linguistico. Nel pomeriggio ci avventureremo fuori, a scoprire Lucca e la Toscana, continuando a praticare conversazione in italiano. Avremo lezioni di cucina, andremo in bici e faremo dei picnic sulle mura, guarderemo un film italiano e degusteremo di vino e olio.
The 2015 program is open to ten individuals. We will spend nine days in Lucca and receive 36 hours of morning language instruction. Participants will be placed in classes appropriate to their language level. In the afternoons together we will venture out to discover Lucca and Tuscany, all the while continuing to practice our Italian conversation skills. Outside of the classroom in the beautiful villa, we will take cooking classes, biking and picnicking on the top of the wall, watching Italian movies, and also wine and olive oil tasting!
Quest’anno ci torneremo a Pisa e ci sarà anche una escursione in treno per visitare le cinque terre. In oltre assisteremo ad un concerto di arie di Puccini nella bella chiesa di San Giovanni, nel cuore di Lucca. Parteciperemo anche al Festival della Santa Croce. Che divertimento stare insieme con la gente di LIS a guardare la processione ed i fuochi artificiali, come una grande famiglia unita e felice!
This year we will be returning to Pisa, and we will also be exploring the Cinque Terre together. In addition to all that we will also be attending a concert featuring Puccini arias in the beautiful church of San Giovanni in the heart of Lucca. We will also participate in the Festival of the Holy Cross. What fun to be together with the folks from LIS and watch the procession and fireworks display like one big happy family.
