Ciao a tutti! Recentemente sono stata assente dal blog e non ho scritto tanti post. Vi sono mancata?!? Forse vi ricordate la ragione per cui sono stata via. Ho passato le ultime tre settimane in Italia! Per essere precisa sono stata con gruppo “Matta 2015” che ho messo insieme per studiare alla Lucca Italian School in Toscana. Gli insegnati della scuola ed io abbiamo organizzato un meraviglioso programma che ha combinato corsi di lingua con attività ed escursioni. L’obiettivo: esplorare l’Italia e approfondire la nostra comprensione della lingua. Forse avete seguito le nostre avventure su Facebook. Ero molto più attiva lì a pubblicare le foto delle nostre attività quotidiane.
Hi everyone! Recently I’ve been absent from the blog and I haven’t written many posts. Did you all miss me? Perhaps you already remember the reason I’ve been away. I’ve spent the past three weeks in Italy! I’ve been with the 2015 Matta Language group that I put together to study at Lucca Italian school in Tuscany. The teachers at the school and I organized a wonderful program combining language classes and activities and excursions. The goal being to explore Italy as we deepen our understanding of the language. Perhaps you followed our adventures on Facebook. I was much more active posting photos of our daily activities there. We did so many wonderful things.
Abbiamo fatto tante cose meravigliose. Per esempio, abbiamo bevuto vino, abbiamo cucinato e abbiamo mangiato pasta e tante prelibatezze toscane. Abbiamo guardato un film, abbiamo assistito ad un concerto e siamo salito su alcune torri. Abbiamo guardato la processione del santa croce, abbiamo cantato e abbiamo fatto escursioni. Ma più importante, abbiamo frequentato le lezioni di Italiano presso la scuola. Il gruppo di quest’anno è stato FANTASTICO! È stata molto piacevole passare del tempo insieme. Ognuno di loro era socievole, attivo e pieno di entusiasmo e adesso siamo grandi amici. Ecco un piccolo assaggio del nostro soggiorno a Lucca quest’anno!
For instance, we drank wine, we cooked and we ate pasta and many Tuscan delicacies. We watched a film, we went to a concert and we climbed towers. We watch the procession of the Holy Cross, we sang and we went on excursions. But most importantly, we took classes at the school. This year’s group was GREAT! It was such a delight for me to travel with this lovely group. Everyone was sociable, active and full of enthusiasm and now we are great friends! Here is just a little glimpse into our stay in Lucca this year!

Abbiamo visitato la casa natale di Puccini, poi abbiamo assistito un
concerto di arie di Puccini in San Giovanni vicino al Duomo.
We visited the house in which Puccini was born and then attended a
concert of Puccini arias in San Giovanni near the Cathedral.
È stato un bellissimo concerto e dopo abbiamo cenato in un ristorante elegante.
It was a great concert and afterward we dined in an elegant restaurant.
Che bel giorno per salire sulla torre Guinigi a Lucca. Dalla cima c’è una vista meravigliosa e nella distanza si può vedere le montane della Garfagnana.

Siamo anche andati in Pullman nelle cinque terre. Abbiamo camminato il sentiero per un po’ vicino a Manarola. Mare bellissimo. Tempo perfetto. Alcuni hanno fatto un bagno nel mare.
