Thanks, Silvia for your lovely kind words. I have received a few questions about how Italian will be taught during our tour and I wanted to respond to the questions here on the blog.
> Who is teaching the language lessons and what are his/her credentials?
Italiani madrelingua con esperienza di insegnamento. Yle è italiana ed è stata un’insegnante.
Native Italians with experience teaching English. Ylenia is Italian and has worked as an English teacher
> How are the lessons incorporated into the day?
Da colazione fino a nanna si parla sempre in italiano! iniziamo con un briefing la mattina e proseguiamo per tutta la giornata. Ogni giorno, prima di iniziare la giornata, sarà condiviso ed illustrato un glossario con le parole nuove che verranno utilizzate durante la giornata di attività. Le lezioni saranno informali – mai seduti ai banchi di scuola – ma in campo, con esperienze dirette, divertenti e rilassanti. Ogni attività prevista dal programma sarà presentata ai partecipanti in modo informativo ed educativo. Spesso i campus sono noiosi e pesanti. Abbiamo pensato ad un programma di apprendimento della lingua italiana divertente e originale. Nel processo di apprendimento non ci sarà una separazione tra lezioni e visite/attività, perchè tutto si svolgerà contemporanemente in modo naturale. Tra gli obiettivi, oltre a parlare l’italiano, anche la possibilità di vivere un’esperienza di viaggio unica ed indimenticabile.
From breakfast until going to sleep, Italian will always be spoken. We begin with an overview of the day, explaining what we will be doing. Every day, we will share and discuss a glossary of new words that we will be using during the day’s activities. The lessons are informal, never will we sit at desks, but rather we will be in the real world participating in activities that will be relaxing and entertaining. Each activity we will do is well thought out in advance and will be presented and explained to the participants in an informative way. Often school rooms are boring and tedious. We have thought out a language learning program that is interesting and original. In the process of learning, there will not be a distinction between the lessons and the activities and tours, because everything will happen altogether. Among our objectives other than speaking Italian, will be also the chance to have a unique and unforgettable vacation.
> What materials will be used? Could you explain further how you will be doing the immersion?
L’immersione è SEMPRE, per tutta la durata del tour. Questo campus è hands-on..ovvero poca teoria e 100% pratica!
The whole experience will be total immersion for the total duration of the tour. This is a hands-on “campus”…or less theory and 100% practice…
> What level is the trip geared towards, beginners? intermediate? etc.
