Hi everybody! Welcome to a new episode of Italian talk for Lovers of the Language! When you hear this episode Cher and I will both be in Italy! I’m going to Lucca to study with my Matta Language & Cultural Immersion group at Lucca Italian School and Cher will be in Siena traveling with her mom.
Quindi per questo nuovo podcast abbiamo pensato che sarebbe stato divertente parlare del viaggiare in Italia. Parliamo di come fare la valigia (quando mettete le scarpe comode nella valigia non dimenticare di includere il vostro buon senso dell’umorismo!), espressioni utili per viaggiare, come fare bella figura nel bel paese e le cose che dovrete assolutamente mangiare quando siete in Italia. Parleremo anche di come massimizzare pratica delle vostre abilità linguistiche quando siete in Italia.
So, for this podcast we thought it would be fun to talk about traveling in Italy. We will talk about how to pack your suitcase (while packing those sensible shoes don’t forget to include your sense of humor!), useful expressions for travel, how to make a good impression nel bel paese and things you absolutely must eat when you are in Italy. We will also discuss how to maximize practicing your Italian language skills when you are traveling up and down the boot.

Il nostro primo ospite è Monica Ceserato. Monica è una guida turistica e una brava cuoca a Venezia. Lei dà lezioni di cucina e offre visite guidate alla scoperta dei misteri e delle meraviglie di Venezia. Lei è anche un’insegnante d’italiano e offre lezioni private e ospita studenti della lingua italiana per esperienze di Home Stay Language a casa sua. Our first guest is Monica Ceserato. Monica is a tour guide and a great cook in Venice. She provides cooking lessons as well as guided tours to discover the mysteries and charms of Venice. She is also an Italian teacher and offers private lessons and accommodates language students for Home Stay Language immersion experiences in her own home. Il secondo ospite è Victoria De Maio. Victoria è nata da immigrati italiani che hanno vissuto in Napa Valley negli anni cinquanta. Dentro di lei le radici italiane sono profonde e forti. Victoria è una sostenitorice di viaggiare da sola. In questo podcast condivide in inglese i suoi pensieri sull’argomento.
Our second guest is Victoria De Maio. Victoria was born of Italian immigrants who lived in Napa Valley during the 1950s. Inside of her are Italian roots that run deep and strong. Victoria is an advocate of traveling “solo”. In this podcast, she shares with us in English her thoughts on traveling by herself self.
