Beatrice’s Homestay in Florence is an opportunity to stay in a non-touristy area of Florence, in a typical Florentine neighborhood just a ten-minute walk to the Academia.

Firenze è una delle città più belle del mondo e…io sono completamente d’accordo!! Se è la prima volta che vieni, ci sono tantissimi capolavori che non puoi perdere, come il David di Michelangelo, gli Uffizi o il Ponte Vecchio, ad esempio, e una settimana non basterà per vedere tutto! Ti posso aiutare a prenotare biglietti online e a pianificare le tue visite anche prima del tuo arrivo!

Florence is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and…Beatrice completely agrees! If it is the first time for you to visit Florence, there are many many masterpieces that you won’t want to miss, like Michelangelo’s David, the Uffizi or the Ponte Vecchio, and one week is never enough to see everything. Conoscete Beatrice la vostra insegnante. Sono nata a Firenze nel 1982 e lavoro come insegnate di italiano dal 2006. Mi sono laureata in linguistica italiana a Siena, proprio per insegnare la mia lingua agli stranieri; mentre studiavo, la mia università mi ha proposto di lavorare negli Istituti Italiani di Cultura a Seoul (Corea del Sud) e a Belgrado (Serbia). Successivamente ho anche insegnato un anno a Parigi e quando sono tornata a Firenze ho lavorato per molte università americane.

Get to know Beatrice your homestay teacher: Beatrice was born in Florence in 1982 and has worked as an Italian teacher since 2006. She graduated in Italian language studies in Siena, precisely to teach her language to foreigners; while she was studying, through a university program she was invited to work in the Italian Language Institute in Seoul Korea and in Belgrade in Serbia. After that, she worked as a teacher for a year in Paris and when she returned to Florence she has worked at many American universities.

Dal 2013 ho deciso di mettermi in proprio e di iniziare la sfida aprendo la mia attività in modo completamente indipendente, con grande successo! Le altre mie grandi passioni sono viaggiare, fare l’attrice teatrale e ballare il tango!

Since 2013 she decided to accept the challenge of working all on her own, and with great success! Beatrice’s other great passions are traveling, performing on stage and dancing the tango!

Il mio lavoro è la mia grande passione, gli incontri con gli studenti sono occasioni per conoscere sempre qualcosa di nuovo, sono la mia “finestra sul mondo”! Preferisco organizzare lezioni per 1 persona fino a un massimo di 3 persone, in modo da dare tutta la mia attenzione ai miei studenti, e realizzare lezioni su misura basate sulle esigenze e preferenze degli studenti. Le mie lezioni non sono solo sulla lingua italiana, ma spesso è uno scambio fra la mia cultura e quella dello studente, magari accompagnando il tutto con un caffè, allegria e curiosità! 

Beatrice’s work is her biggest passion, meeting her students are an opportunity to learn something new, they are “windows on the world”! She prefers to organize lessons for one to three people, so that she can give her full attention to her students, to create lessons based on the requirements and interests of her students. Her lessons are not just about the Italian language, but often are based on cultural exchange between herself and her students, accompanied by a coffee and a healthy helping of curiosity!

Infatti, per ottenere i migliori risultati, oltre alla motivazione dello studente, per me è importante che durante la lezione ci sia un’atmosfera piacevole, rilassata e informale, ma allo stesso tempo sempre professionale e piena di energia!

Infact, to obtain the best results, other than the student’s own motivation, for Beatrice it is important that during the lesson there is a pleasant, relaxed and informal atmosphere, but at the same time always professional and full of energy!

Città o campagna? Perché non entrambe?? Abito in uno dei quartieri più eleganti e richiesti dai fiorentini proprio per la sua perfetta location. Se vuoi andare in centro arrivi in 15 minuti all’Accademia a piedi, in 5/7 minuti in bici (che ti posso prestare) o in autobus. Se ti piace il verde e la campagna toscana, allora puoi salire sulla collina di Fiesole in 15/20 minuti a piedi attraverso antiche e suggestive stradine e godere di un incredibile panorama!

City or country? Why not both? Beatrice lives in one of the most elegant and requested neighborhoods by the Florentines, because of its perfect location. If you want to get to the center, by foot it takes about 15 minutes to reach the Accademia, about 5-7 minutes by bike (that you can borrow from Beatrice). If you like the green spaces of Tuscany’s country, you can climb the hill to Fiesole in about 15-20 minutes on foot passing through old and charming little streets and you will enjoy an incredible panorama!

Il mio quartiere, le Cure, è un antico quartiere abitato solo da fiorentini, provvisto di tutti i comfort (negozi originali e autentici, ristoranti senza menù turistici, farmacie, macellerie, pescivendolo proprio come un tempo!).

Beatrice’s neighborhood, le Cure, is an ancient neighborhood where only Florentines live, with all the comforts (shops—original and authentic, restaurants without tourists, pharmacies, butcher shops, fish shops just like the old days!)

La mia strada è residenziale, circondata dal verde (la mattina puoi sentire gli uccellini pur essendo in città!) e gli edifici, incluso il mio, sono stati costruiti negli anni ’20 del Novecento.Insomma, sarà una full immersion nella reale ed autentica vita fiorentina!

Beatrice’s street is residential, surrounded by greenery (in the morning you can hear the birds even though you are in the city!) the buildings, including mine, were built in the 1920s. To sum up, Beatrice’s homestay will be full immersion in an authentic Florence.

Durante il Homestay: Posso ospitare una persona singola, una coppia o due amici (posso avere due letti singoli separati). During your stay, which usually is 7 days and 6 nights, there are 3 meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner)

Sono flessibile a ricevere studenti anche per soggiorni più brevi o più lunghi, e a pianificare insieme il programma delle lezioni e delle attività! Ad esempio in una settimana possiamo organizzare 10-15 ore di lezione di lingua italiana la mattina, e 3 attività pomeridiane da scegliere insieme io e te, fra una serie di opzioni.

Beatrice is flexible and will accept short or longer homestays and is ready to help plan your lessons and extra activities with you. For example, in one week together you can organize 10-15 hours of Italian lessons during the morning time and three-afternoon activities

2 Choices for Accommodations:

Beatrice lives on the second floor of an elegant palazzo, without elevator access. She can offer two accommodations:

Option 1. Private room inside Beatrice’s apartment, with terrace where lessons can be conducted if weather permits. The terrace looks out over private gardens. It is airy, quiet, and bright. The bathroom has a tub and will be shared with Beatrice, who is the only person who lives in the apartment.

Option 2. Private room in with small private bathroom with shower and small kitchen unit, that is located on the floor above that of Beatrice. It is independent and has its own access apart from the apartment of Beatrice.

In both apartments there is WiFi, you will have access to common areas like the kitchen and the terrace. In both rooms, it is possible to have a small moveable air conditioning unit, but the interior of the apartment itself isn’t airconditioned because usually, it isn’t a type of Italian apartment that gets that hot.

Amo cucinare! Mi piace proporre ai miei ospiti i piatti tipici toscani e se c’è bel tempo anche un piccolo barbecue in terrazza! Sono anche abituata a cucinare piatti per vegetariani, vegani o per persone con intolleranze particolari come al glutine, ai latticini, ecc.

Beatrice loves to cook! She likes to suggest and prepare typical Tuscan dishes and if the weather is nice a barbecue on the terrace. Beatrice is accustomed to preparing vegetarian or vegan meals, or those types of meals for those with gluten or milk intolerances.

Homestay activities: Durante il soggiorno è incluso un pranzo in un piccolo e tipico locale del mio quartiere che fa primi piatti con una squisita pasta fatta in casa a mano! È previsto anche un aperitivo in uno dei locali tipici fiorentini.

Homestay activities: Your homestay includes a lunch in a small typical restaurant in Beatrice’s neighborhood that makes an exquisite first courses of homemade pastas. A welcome aperitivo in a typical Florentine local is also included.

Se ti piace cucinare, mi piacerebbe dedicare un pomeriggio a fare la spesa insieme e insegnarti un tipico piatto toscano (ovviamente facendo tutto in italiano!!)

If you like cooking, Beatrice would like to dedicate an afternoon to shopping together and teaching you how to make a typical Tuscan dish from scratch (while at the same time practicing Italian!)
