Come inizia il libro? Descrivi la scena. Che è successo la notte prima? Perché Alice è così sconvolta che passa la notte a guardare film e bere prosecco e finisce in grande stile abbracciando al water (vomitando) ?

How does the book start? Describe the scene. What happened the previous night? Why is Alice so distraught that she spends the night watching movies and drinking prosecco and finishes in a big way by hugging the toilet (throwing up)?

Descrivi Alice. Che tipo di donna è? Quali sono le cose che le piacciono? Quali sono i film che lei preferisce?

Describe Alice. What kind of woman is she? What are the things she likes? What are her favorite films?

La filosofia di Alice in una frase. “[I fim rosa] Mi fanno pensare che nella vita ci sia un ordine e che, anche quando tutto sembra andare male, un lieto fine sia lì, appena dietro l’angolo, al minuto 120, giusto in tempo per i titoli di coda.”

Alice’s philosophy summed up: [Romantic comedies] They make me think that there is order in life and that, even when everything seems to go wrong, a happy ending is there, just around the corner, at minute 120, just in time for the credits.

Che vuole dire “la Madeleine di Proust.” Che c’entra?

What does “Proust’s Madeleine” mean? What does it have to do with Alice?

Hint: Proust’s Madeleine (a type of cookie) is an expression used to describe smells, tastes, sounds, or any sensations reminding you of your childhood or simply bringing back emotional memories from a long time ago.
