Si chiama Cher (proprio come la cantante!) e si descrive come “un istigatore di avventura e romanticismo sul suo blog Il Progetto Iceberg, dove insegna alle donne come di affascinare gli italiani con la loro lingua e come seguire la loro voglia di viaggiare”. Che posso dirvi? Questa ragazza mi fa sorridere. Il suo entusiasmo per la lingua italiana mi rende sempre più felice. La prima volta che ho letto il suo blog The Iceberg Project mi sa di aver trovato un’anima gemella. Quando sono andata in Italia per la prima volta, ho imparato qualche parola e ho studiato un po’ di grammatica.
When I went to Italy for the first time, I learned some Italian words and studied some grammar.

The first boyfriend helped me with pronunciation and taught me bad words. The second boyfriend helped me with actually speaking the language. The third boyfriend helped me with more abstract conversation and with my soul.
Comunque, queste storie sono per un’altro giorno. Ma anche se ero completamente immersa nell’italiano, era necessario che studiassi.
However, these stories are for another day. But even though I was completely immersed in Italian, it was still necessary that I studied.
Ho letto libri. Ho scritto nel mio diario in Italiano. Ho guardato film italiani. Ho studiato la grammatica. Ero fissata con l’Italiano ….e lo sono ancora adesso.
I read books. I wrote in Italian in my diary. I watched Italian movies. I studied grammar. I was obsessed with Italian…and I still am.
Il mio italiano non è perfetto, ma va bene così per me perché il mio obiettivo è di fare conversazione ed essere compresa.
My Italian is not perfect, but I’m okay with it because my objective is to make conversation and be understood.
A furia di studiare l’italiano, migliorerò.
As I study Italian, it will improve.
E questa lingua non è la sola.
And this language is not the only one.
Mi piacciono tutte le lingue. La prossima che imparerò sarà il cinese, poi lo spagnolo, il francese, il portoghese, il sanscrito, il danese, etc.
I like all languages. Next ill learn Chinese, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Sanskrit, Danish, etc.
In pratica, vorrei imparare dodici lingue in dodici anni nello stesso modo in cui ho imparato l’italiano.
