Da un po’ di tempo vi ho raccontato delle cose che mi piacciono di più di Arezzo e anche i motivi per cui ci torno. Ho pensato per un cambiamento che sarebbe divertente sentire come la pensano gli abitanti. Quindi ho chiesto ad alcuni amici di darmi solo tre risposte brevi per spiegarmi ciò che a loro piace di più della loro città. Abbastanza semplice, giusto? Però il compito si è rivelato un po’ più difficile di quanto immaginassero. Per tutti è stato difficile limitarsi a solo TRE risposte.
For some time now I have been telling you about the things I like about Arezzo and why I keep returning there. I thought for a change it would be fun to get an insider’s perspective. So, I asked a couple of friends to give me just three responses explaining to me the things they like the most about their city. Simple enough, right? But, the assignment turned out to be a little more difficult than they imagined. They all found it a bit hard to limit themselves to just THREE answers.
Dopo aver letto le loro risposte…il mio cuore è di nuovo pieno di amore. Ecco i miei amici arentini – Debora, Roberto, Paola e Monica e i loro motivi per cui amano vivere ad Arezzo.
After reading their responses…my heart is bursting again and I can’t wait to return! Here are my friends, Debora, Roberto, Paola and Monica with the reasons why they love living in Arezzo.
Debora Bresciani – Guida turistica di Arezzo e provincia
Mi piace passeggiare per il centro storico tra angoli che percorrono secoli di storia, dal periodo etrusco, romano al rinascimentale, fermarmi a guardare le vetrine di botteghe artigianali che conservano ancora antiche tradizioni. O fare una pausa in uno dei bar del centro o mangiarmi un buon gelato o prendere un aperitivo in compagnia. Se voglio uscire dal centro e percorrere alcuni chilometri ho la possibilità di visitare Castelli, Pievi, Borghi tra i più belli d’Italia, così da ritrovarmi in un paesaggio rilassante e “sentirmi in vacanza” anche a poca distanza da casa.
I like to walk through the historic center around corners that go back centuries, to the Etruscans, Romans and Renaissance, and look into the windows of the craft shops that still preserve ancient traditions. Or take a break in one of the bars in the center to eat a good ice cream or have a drink with friends. If I want to get out of the center just a few miles away is the opportunity to visit Castelli, Pievi and small villages that are among the most beautiful in Italy, so that I can find myself in the relaxing beauty of the landscape and “feel as if I am on vacation” even though I am just a short distance from home.
Chiaramente parlando della mia città e provincia non posso tralasciare le specialità enogastronomiche: crostini di vari tipi, pasta fatta in casa, ribollita, pappa al pomodoro, fagioli zolfini, tarese, bistecca chianina, porchetta e dolci tipici, e tutto accompagnato da del buon vino e vinsanto!
Obviously speaking about my city and province I can’t possibly leave out the wonderful foods: the crostini of every type, homemade pasta, ribollita, tomato sauce, zolfini beans, tarese (a type of pancetta), Chiana beef, pork roast and typical regional desserts, and everything accompanied with good wine and vinsanto (sweet dessert wine).
Last but not least…tutte le prime domeniche del mese e sabato precedente si svolge nelle vie del centro la Fiera dell’Antiquariato dove si possono trovare gli oggetti antichi più svariati che ti portano indietro nel tempo. A giugno e a settembre la città si colora e si prepara per l’evento della giostra del Saracino che riunisce ma anche divide gli abitanti in base al quartiere di appartenenza.
Last but not least…every first Saturday and Sunday of the month the Antique Fair takes place in the city center where it is possible to find all kinds of fascinating objects and old relics that will take you back in time. In June and September, the city is also a colorful blur as it prepares itself for the Joust – la giostra del Saracino that unite but also divides the city’s inhabitants on the basis of the neighborhoods.

Le chiese, in particolare il Duomo, il modo in cui svetta sulla cima della città, come si impone, la sua bellezza da qualunque angolo si raggiunga.
The churches, in particular, the cathedral (San Donato) the way in which it stands out on top of the city as it imposes itself, its beauty from any angle as you approach it.

The Piazza Grande kissed by the sun, the harmonies and the differences in the levels of the piazza, the shape and the buildings that surround and contain it, the history that is told with each step.

Quando si pensa e si parla della Toscana tutti ne restano affascinati e Arezzo non è da meno, solo che purtroppo è eclissata dal nome di città e luoghi più famosi , ma una cosa è certa chi viene ci ritorna perché ne rimane piacevolmente sorpreso!!
When you think and talk about Tuscany everyone is fascinated by it as well as Arezzo, but it is unfortunately eclipsed by the names of other Tuscan towns and famous places, but one thing is certain those who come here return because it is such a surprising and pleasant discovery!
Queste sono alcune delle cose che mi piacciono di Arezzo e che vi invito a venire a conoscere…del resto non ve le posso svelare tutto io! Vi aspettiamo per un buon bicchiere di vino o un buon cappuccino.
